Help Us Reach More People, Wherever You Live
Sensory Impaired Guidance Network (SIGN) works to connect individuals, families, educators, and communities with education, tools, programs, and resources related to sensory disabilities and differences.
You don't have to live near us to make a difference.
Whether you want to volunteer online, represent SIGN at an event in your community, share our resources with local organizations, or become more involved with the organization, we'd love to have you join us.
You do NOT need to know sign language to volunteer with SIGN.
Bring SIGN to Your Community
Attend a Local Event on Our Behalf
Is there a resource fair, disability event, community festival, school event, health fair, conference, or other gathering happening near you?
You can help represent SIGN!
Approved volunteers can download and print SIGN brochures and other outreach materials to distribute at events in their own communities.
Depending on the event, you may be able to:
Set up a SIGN information table
Hand out brochures and educational materials
Talk with attendees about SIGN and our programs
Share information about our online programs and resources
Connect families, educators, and professionals with SIGN
Collect information about resources and organizations in your community
Help us build relationships with other organizations
You don't need to be an expert on everything SIGN does. We can provide you with materials and guidance so you know what to share and where to direct people when they have questions.

SIGN is a growing organization with programs, resources, communities, and educational projects that serve people in many different locations.

Many volunteer projects can be completed from home using your own computer.
We work in an environment that includes both English and American Sign Language (ASL), but you do not need to know ASL to volunteer.

You may have a skill, profession, hobby, or area of expertise that could help SIGN in a way we haven't even thought of yet.
Tell us what you're good at and what you enjoy doing.
We would rather find a meaningful way for you to contribute than give every volunteer the same list of tasks.

Serve on the SIGN Board
SIGN is also interested in connecting with people who may be a good fit for nonprofit leadership and board service.
Board service is different from general volunteering and involves a greater commitment to the governance, growth, and long-term sustainability of the organization.
