Where Every Child Learns to Communicate

SIGN Preschool is an inclusive online early learning program for children ages 3–7 that combines spoken English with authentic American Sign Language (ASL) signs throughout every lesson.

Rather than teaching sign language as a separate subject, we use sign-supported instruction to help children build communication, language, and confidence while learning reading, writing, math, science, and the social skills they need for lifelong success.

Children hear language while seeing it, creating a rich, multi-sensory learning experience that supports understanding, encourages participation, and helps every child become a more confident communicator.

Our classrooms welcome children of all abilities because we believe communication is the foundation for learning.

Mr. Fleener has been teaching sign language to all age groups for over 15 years both in person and online. Now, we get to teach YOUR child online! We can't wait!!

Why Are We Passionate About

Early Learning?

The early years are the perfect time to build communication, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Beth points to the sign for blue on her wall.

Hi! I'm Ms. Beth, and teaching has been my passion for as long as I can remember.

For more than 25 years, I've had the privilege of teaching children and adults in both spoken English and sign language. Throughout my career, I've worked with children of all abilities, helping them build communication skills and discover the joy of learning.

One thing I've learned is that communication is the foundation for learning.

When children can communicate, they gain confidence. They ask questions, build friendships, express their ideas, and become active participants in their own learning.

That's why I created SIGN Preschool.

Our communication-first approach combines spoken English with authentic ASL signs throughout every lesson, giving children multiple ways to understand, participate, and succeed.

Over the past decade, I've designed individualized curriculum for homeschooling families, taught in my local preschool, and since 2020, I've had the joy of teaching families online through SIGN Preschool.

With a background in disability studies, psychology, and early childhood education, my goal is simple:

To create a place where every child is welcomed, every child can communicate, and every child can develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

I can't wait to welcome your family to SIGN Preschool!

"This is a great, great option! Not only is Beth teaching sign language but also preschool skills. This is an innovative online preschool." - Thakore L.

Wondering if Your Child Will

Stay Engaged!

Learning Should Feel Like an Adventure!

Young children learn best when they're actively involved.

That's why every SIGN Preschool lesson is designed to keep children moving, thinking, communicating, singing, exploring, and participating from beginning to end.

We don't believe children learn best by sitting and watching a screen.

Instead, we combine movement, conversation, stories, songs, games, and hands-on activities to create lessons that capture children's attention while building real learning skills.

When children are engaged, they learn.

When children are communicating, they thrive.

"Beth is amazing and very knowledgeable. She is very creative and she keeps the kids engaged!" - Natalie E.

Why Do We Teach With

Sign Language?

At SIGN Preschool, sign language isn't just another subject. It's one of the ways we teach.

By combining spoken English with authentic American Sign Language (ASL) signs throughout every lesson, children hear language while seeing it. This multi-sensory approach helps children build communication skills, expand their vocabulary, and develop confidence expressing themselves.

Research has shown that learning sign language can benefit all children by supporting language development, memory, visual attention, and social communication skills. It also helps children become more aware of facial expressions, body language, and other nonverbal forms of communication.

Most importantly, our goal isn't simply to teach signs.

Our goal is to help children communicate.

As children develop communication skills, they also build an American Sign Language vocabulary that can continue to grow throughout their lives.

Whether your child is hearing, Deaf, hard of hearing, neurotypical, or neurodivergent, learning through both spoken English and sign language provides another way to understand, participate, and succeed.

A Complete Early Learning Curriculum

Communication is at the heart of everything we do, but it's only the beginning.

Our carefully selected curriculum helps children develop strong skills in:

✔ Reading & Phonics

✔ Writing

✔ Mathematics

✔ Science

✔ Social Studies

✔ Fine Motor Development

✔ Social & Emotional Learning

✔ Music & Movement

✔ Critical Thinking

We combine trusted educational programs, hands-on activities, and engaging lessons to create a complete early learning experience that prepares children for the next stage of their education.

Rather than placing children strictly by age, we evaluate each child's communication and literacy skills so they can learn at the level that's right for them.

Our goal is to challenge every child, build confidence, and create a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Got questions?

We're Here to Help!

If you don't see your question below, we'd love to hear from you. [email protected]

Is SIGN Preschool only for children with disabilities?

No. SIGN Preschool is designed for all children ages 3–7.

Our communication-first approach benefits every learner, while our inclusive environment allows children of all abilities to learn together.

We welcome children who are neurotypical, autistic, Deaf, hard of hearing, have speech or language delays, or communicate in different ways. If your child has an IEP or specific learning goals, we'll do our best to support those goals throughout the school year.

Do parents need to stay with their child during lessons?

Parents help children get logged in at the beginning of class, but after that, you're welcome to stay and participate or use the time however you'd like nearby.

Many families enjoy learning alongside their child, while others appreciate having a little time to themselves.

Will I need to teach my child outside of class?

No.

SIGN Preschool is designed to provide a complete learning experience.

We include printable activities and optional enrichment materials to reinforce learning at home, but you won't need to purchase additional curriculum or create lesson plans.

Will I need to buy school supplies?

No.

Your tuition includes your child's learning materials and learning kit.

We simply recommend having basic drawing or coloring supplies available for creative activities.

Are there any additional costs?

No.

There are no registration fees, hidden costs, or additional curriculum purchases required.

Everything your child needs is included with your tuition.

Is this just educational videos or worksheets?

Not at all.

SIGN Preschool combines engaging on-demand lessons with weekly live Sign Pals sessions where children interact with teachers and classmates.

Children aren't simply watching a screen—they're singing, signing, moving, communicating, and actively participating throughout each lesson.

We also provide carefully selected educational resources that families can use to reinforce learning between lessons.

How is SIGN Preschool different from ABCmouse®, Hooked on Phonics®, or other learning apps?

Those programs are excellent educational resources, but they can't replace a caring teacher or meaningful interaction with other children.

At SIGN Preschool, your child receives:

  • Communication-first instruction

  • A complete early learning curriculum

  • Personalized placement based on readiness

  • Ongoing teacher monitoring

  • Weekly live social interaction

  • A supportive learning community

Technology supports our teaching—it doesn't replace it.

My child is shy, energetic, or has trouble sitting still. Will they fit in?

Absolutely.

Every child has a unique personality and learning style.

Our lessons are designed to encourage movement, participation, and communication, and we strive to create a welcoming environment where every child feels comfortable learning at their own pace.

What technology do we need?

You'll need:

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A laptop or desktop computer (recommended)

  • A printer for optional learning materials

A tablet can also work, although we recommend a larger screen whenever possible to help children see their teacher and classmates more easily.

I'm not very technical. Can you help?

Absolutely!

We'll guide you through getting started and are happy to help if you have questions or run into technical issues.

What platform do you use?

Our live Sign Pals sessions are hosted using secure online meeting technology, and families access all course materials through the SIGN learning platform.

Your classroom links are private, and our live sessions are always supervised by a teacher.

Can I connect with other parents?

Yes!

When you join SIGN Preschool, you'll also become part of our private online parent community where families encourage one another, share ideas, and celebrate their children's progress together.

Learn on Your Schedule

Flexible Learning for Busy Families

Life happens, and we designed SIGN Preschool with that in mind.

Your child's lessons are available on demand, so you can learn when it works best for your family's schedule. Whether you're traveling, have appointments, or simply need a different routine that day, your child's learning can continue without falling behind.

Then, each week, your child joins us live for Sign Pals to practice communication, build friendships, and connect with teachers and classmates.

With SIGN Preschool, your family gets the flexibility of on-demand learning and the connection of a live classroom community.
